O Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho, mais conhecido por Pacaembu, é um estádio desportivo localizado na praça Charles Miller, na região central da cidade de São Paulo, no Brasil. Pertence à prefeitura da capital paulista e pode ser utilizado nas partidas de futebol pela maioria das equipes do município, por meio de pagamento de aluguel. Il suo nome ufficiale è Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho ed è di proprietà della Prefettura Municipale di San Paolo. Lo stadio è stato inaugurato il 27 aprile 1940 con la presenza del Presidente brasiliano Getúlio Vargas, l'interveniente Adhemar de Barros e il sindaco di San Paolo Prestes Maia. Lo stadio può contenere 37.180 persone e le sue dimensioni sono 104 m di lunghezza di 70 m di larghezza. Lo stadio è intitolato a Paulo Machado de Carvalho. Era il capo delegazione brasiliana del Campionato mondiale di calcio 1958, ed è stato conosciuto come "Marechal da Vitória" (Marshall, di Vittoria). __________________ Estádio do Pacaembu, as it is usually called, is a football stadium in São Paulo, located on Praça Charles Miller, no nº - in Pacaembu neighborhood. Its official name is Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho and it is owned by the Municipal Prefecture of São Paulo. The stadium was inaugurated on April 27, 1940 with the presence of the Brazilian President Getúlio Vargas, the intervener Adhemar de Barros and the mayor of São Paulo Prestes Maia. The stadium holds 37,180 people[1] and its pitch dimensions are 104 m of length by 70 m of width. The stadium is named after Paulo Machado de Carvalho. He was the 1958 FIFA World Cup Brazilian delegation chief, and was known as "Marechal da Vitória" (Marshall of Victory). |
