Description
Español: Escudo de Tacna Oficial por la ordenanza municipal 005-2009 .----. Es un escudo que tiene la forma ESPAÑOL-FRANCES; TAJADO en el TODO, es decir, con DOS campos cortados de punta superior diestra a punta inferior siniestra. El campo superior en Gules (rojo) que denota fortaleza, valor generosidad, victoria, osadía, alteza y heroicidad. Sobre este campo, un león rampante en Oro que simboliza bizarro espíritu, indomable ardimiento, ánimo generosamente guerrero y noblemente soberano, es también emblema de corazón esforzado e incansable vigilancia. El campo inferior en plata, simboliza pureza, integridad, firmeza, elocuencia, paz. Este campo va cargado con fruto de Granado (planta de la campiña local) que expresa abundancia, desprendimiento, unidad. Rodea al TODO (centro del escudo) una BORDURA en Oro, la misma que va cargada de una divisa que a letra de Gules dice: ´ HEROICA CIUDAD DE SAN PEDRO DE TACNA `. Lleva como timbre, el único símbolo exterior que merita a los Escudos republicanos, la CORONA CIVICA de Laurel sujeta con un lazo Bicolor, el blanco y rojo de nuestra bandera peruana.
