«Escudo medio partido y cortado. Uno de gules, un castillo de oro, almenado, mazonado de sable y aclarado de azur, que representa la pertenencia del municipio al Reino de Castilla; dos en plata una cruz floredelisada de gules emblema de la Orden Militar de Calatrava, en cuyo Campo está asentada la Villa y cuyo vigésimo noveno Maestre la fundó; tres cortado, encajado de oro y gules (armas de los Téllez Girón, por Don Rodrigo Téllez Girón, Maestre de Calatrava, fundador de la villa y del cual tomó ésta su nombre). Al timbre la corona real cerrada».DOCM 12 de 17/03/1995
