[edit]DescriptionErythranthe alsinoides at Northern Crags - Flickr - brewbooks (1).jpg |
Erythranthe alsinoides formerly Mimulus alsinoides Chickweed Monkey-flower growing in a wet rock crag, next to the Carbon Glacier, in Mount Rainier National Park, Pierce County, Washington, USA at about 1000 meters (3300 feet) elevation Thanks to Mark Egger for ID help Just doing a little homework on Mimulus genetic reclassification, I found that Mimulus is a Model organism "a non-human species that is extensively studied to understand particular biological phenomena, with the expectation that discoveries made in the organism model will provide insight into the workings of other organisms" Check out www.mimulusevolution.org/ s 048 |
