Summary
[edit]DescriptionEroding dune ridge - geograph.org.uk - 1084899.jpg |
English: Eroding dune ridge Dune ridges aren't stable features, they tend to be either eroding or accreting (or sometime both). The erosion has exposed the roots of the Marram Grass. The roots don't push down through the sand but the grass grows as the sand accretes while the dune is forming. The Position is taken from aerial photography, the 1:50000 map putting the ridge too far north. |
