Description
Deutsch: Kriegerdenkmal 1870/71 auf dem Martin-Luther-Platz in Erlangen. 1890 wurde das von Friedrich Wanderer gestaltete Denkmal auf dem damaligen Altstädter Holzmarkt, heute Martin-Luther-Platz, errichtet. Das ursprünglich wesentlich größere Denkmal mit Sockel und Bronzeteilen (Kunstgießerei Lenz) wurde 1952 vom Platz entfernt. Die Namenstafel wurde auf den Ehrenfriedhof gebracht. Der Löwe wurde in den 1970er Jahren zunächst in der Einkaufspassage Altstadtmarkt und schließlich erneut auf dem Martin-Luther-Platz wieder errichtet.
