Ai ka luajtur në EuroBasket me kombëtaren shqiptare, nga ku u përzgjodh si i pari lojtar shqiptar i cili hyri në Top 100 në renditjen e FIBA-s. Në vitin 2017, Muhametaj u rendit i 28 nga më te mirët, duke vazhduar ne 2018 si i 46 , pasuar në vitin 2019 si i 30 nga talentet më të mira për moshën e tij.

Prej gati 2 vitesh Ergys vazhdon stervitjet e tij dhe studimet ne USA ne High school dhe po pergatitet maksimalisht nga specialiste te mirenjohur.
