A Villa de Porta de Arcos (Fafián, Rodeiro)

En 1972 e 1973 leváronse a cabo cadandúas campañas non sistemáticas de escavacións que puxeron de relevo a existencia dunha vila romana de tipo rústico no lugar de Porta de Arcos.

Parece tratarse dun conxunto de edificacions nos que se detectaron dúas fases: a primeira, de inicios do século II, e a segunda, de finais do III. Ámbalas dúas con muros de cachotería, con restos de mosicos nalgunha estancia, e provistas de sistemas de canalizacións de tubaxe de chumbo e de desaugadoiros.

A escavación do que se supón era a cociña serviu para recuperar numeroso enxoval cerámico de cociña, mesa e almacenaxe, con especial mención ós recipientes de terra sigillata hispánica e sudgálica ou os decorados con barbotina. Documentáronse tamén algunhas moedas, vasos de vidro, e obxectos de adorno persoal como un espectacular cinto.
