Description
Español: El Presidente de la República, Ollanta Humala Tasso y el ministro de Defensa, Pedro Cateriano Bellido participaron en la transferencia de la Fragata Misilera BAP Carvajal desde la Comandancia General de Operaciones del Pacífico a la Dirección de Capitanías y Guardacostas (DICAPI) como nueva patrullera oceánica, con el nombre de BAP Guardamarina San Martín. Según el comandante general de la Marina, almirante Carlos Tejada Mera, este buque se convertirá en la unidad guardacostas de mayor tonelaje en el Perú. Entre sus funciones estarán la vigilancia marítima, salvamento, combate al narcotráfico y pesca ilegal y salvamento.
