Summary
[edit]DescriptionEntrance to the Coldham Hall Sailing Club - geograph.org.uk - 1375504.jpg |
English: Entrance to the Coldham Hall Sailing Club. The Wherryman's Way leads through here. This section of the Wherryman's Way long distance footpath turns off The Street in Surlingham, leading northwards first along Beerlick's Loke and then following a narrow footpath, emerging by the Coldham Hall Sailing Club clubhouse on the River Yare. Here it veers easterly towards Coldham Hall Tavern > 812171 before turning back onto itself and to The Street. The Wherryman's Way > 1340030 is a 35-mile long distance footpath following the route of the Broads trading wherries between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. The route takes its name from the wherry - a large cargo-carrying barge whose black sails used to be a common sight on these waters. Ten circular village walks branch off this path along the way. |
