Summary
[edit]DescriptionEntrance to children's playground - geograph.org.uk - 1510942.jpg |
English: Entrance to children's playground. Great Goliath > 1510944 - the converted Thurlton tower mill - is standing guard in the background.
Thurlton towermill is also known as Great Goliath Mill. It once used to be a 4 storeys high tarred red brick mill with four patent sails on an iron windshaft. By 1949 the mill had ceased working and the upper storey had been removed. By 1977 the mill had a flat roof and was converted into a private dwelling. |
