English: Entrance to a Footpath The photograph shows the entrance to a diversion off the 339834. Ahead and left is a picnic bench with a 42507.
Ahead and to the right, the 339905 leads through a small wooded area. Also, a little way along, this footpath is joined by another from 343886. The copse in this photograph grows on reclaimed industrial (railway) land adjacent to opencast workings that have also been reclaimed. Although, superficially well reclaimed with realistic contours, the ground is poor. Drainage is very limited, the ground is hard and during wet weather, substantial amounts of water sit on the surface causing the top inch or so to be very muddy. At times this path is not for the fainthearted! To see the southern (right, some 200metres distant) entry point to the diversion, click here 321799. |
