English: Enson Works, Chelson Street, Longton. This grade-II-listed, late 19th century red-brick building on the corner of Chelson Street and Normacot Road formed part of the Enson pottery works. Three of the four remaining bottle kilns of the works are visible around the yard behind the building (see 312736). The arched entrance is typical of works in this area. The elaborate street furniture (lamps, bollards, signs) visible in this shot are in contrast with the run-down nature of the area |
