Enlistment Form King's German Legion 1804

| Description |
English: Size approx 41,5 cm x 32,5 cm Enlistment document for Henrich (Henry) Schwienekobe of Hanover, Germany to serve in His Majesty's Army for the term of 7 years. The recruit signed the statement " . . . to the best of my Knowledge and Belief, . . . I have no Rupture, nor ever was troubled with Fits, and am no Ways disabled by Lameness or otherwise, but have ther perfect use of my Limbs . . ." on October 25, 1804. He is 25 years old, of a fair complexion, with blue eyes and blond hair, and has enlisted for the bounty of four pounds sterling. The document is signed by the Magistrate, a witness, and at the bottom of the first page, is signed "I have Inspected the above recruit & find him fit for his Majestie's service. T. Logan." Printed document in English and German, each leaf printed on one side and filled-in in ink in various hands, the King's coat of arms appears at the top of each page of the document; folded lengthwise thrice |
