Description
English: Richard Trevithick "puffer" steam engine outline. Valve a (steam inlet) is briefly opened. High pressure steam expands inside the cylinder, pushing the plunger down. When valve b is opened steam moves to the bottom of the cylinder. Plunger moves up driven by the heavy piston of the pump. Steam gets away through valve c (exhaust)
