Description

Endocarpon petrolepideum (Nyl.) Nyl., 1892 -- Habitat

(photograph of "Cement Mountain", a hill of concrete created by dumping waste cement over the years)

"Cement Mountain" is located in an area adjacent to Indian Creek S of the Greenbelt Metro station, Greenbelt, Prince George's County, Maryland, USA. Colonies of Endocarpon petrolepideum were found growing near the base of the hill of cement on the western side.
