Emperor moth, Saturnia pavonia

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Emperor moth, Saturnia pavonia This one has just landed by the path to the Strumble VOR beacon. It was a warm September day and as the adults normally appear in April and are only on the wing for a couple of months, I wondered why this was around at this time of year.
