Deutsch: Führung durch die Residenz München
Deutsch: München, Residenzmuseum, Reiche Zimmer: Tizian malte 1536–1540 einen Zyklus von 11 Portraits der ersten römischen Kaiser, entsprechend der durch die Kaiserbiographien von Sueton kanonisch gewordenen Zusammenstellung. Das fehlende zwölfte Bild ergänzte 1562 Bernardino Campi. Aus dem Palazzo Ducale in Mantua gelangten die Bilder im 17. Jahrhundert zunächst nach England, dann nach Madrid, wo sie 1734 bei einem Brand vernichtet wurden. Einen Eindruck von den berühmten Bildern geben immerhin noch Kupferstiche und Gemäldekopien wie diese hier in der Münchner Residenz. Im Ersten Vorzimmer, im Zweiten Vorzimmer und im Inneren Audienzzimmer der Reichen Zimmer hängen jeweils vier dieser Bildnisse als Supraportenbilder über den Türen. Als Maler wird Bernardino Campi vermutet, gemalt um 1562/64. Näher als mit Campis Kopien wird man heute kaum mehr an die Originale herankommen.
