Summary
[edit]DescriptionEmily Lucas at Kaladar Hotel (15531244588).jpg |
Emily Lucas with her oxen in front of the Kaladar Hotel. c1930. Oxen were used quite extensively in the outback of Ontario in the 1800s and early 20th century. They were the staple "work" animals. The Lucas family was prominent south of Kaladar, making the provenance of this photo difficult to document, although several inquiries have been made about Emily. |
