Description
Català: Des de l'edat mitjana aquest espai fou utilitzat per a emmagatzemar i distribuir el blat i altres cereals.

Les primeres notícies de l'almodí són del 1442, quan el Consell acorda construir un dipòsit de gra fora del portal de la Calaforra. En aquest document es parla de l'existència d'un pes per al blat, que es portava a moldre, i per a repesar la farina. Segons sembla, en un principi seria un pòrtic amb arcs, que posteriorment, va ser tancat i es va dividir en diverses habitacions.

Aquest lloc, que en els últims anys va ser celler, està format per tres estances voltades. Quan la Calaforra va passar a mans del senyor d'Elx, a l'almodí es guardava el gra del delme, que s'hi mantenia fins que era repartit. Unes altres dependències de la torre, a la part alta, acollien l'habitatge del comptador del senyoriu.
