Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Elm Row and Christ Church spire Elm Row runs off Heath Street into Hampstead Square: all part of the early 17th century development of the area. Just beyond is the parish church of Christ Church with its spire (architect S.W.Daukes, 1852) the second highest in London. Its traditions and history link the church closely with the Heath, much of which is within its parish. On Ascension Day the children from Christ Church Primary School (next door) are led by the vicar on a Heath walk, beating the bounds of the parish. The old-fashioned street light is a feature of this carefully preserved area.
