Summary

[edit]
Description An exclusive sculpture for the Ellora Caves, near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. 34 "caves" carved our of a single rock formation over a period of over five hundred years (5th C to 10th C AD) are a sight not to be miised. One is amazed by the enormous amount of work put in by the artisans, nearly 1000 years ago using crude tools. The inspiration of the temples and carvings undertaken under the patronage of the Rashtrkuta dynasty, obviously came from wooden carvings from the Sough India.
