The new repairshops and car houses were occupied early in the summer of1906 but were not entirely completed until fall. In designing the new buildings an effort was made to useconstruction materials of such composition that the build-ings were made as nearly fireproof as was possible. Thefoundation of the buildings is of concrete, the superstructureis of brick, and the roof design, which in the shop is of thesaw-tooth type, is of lattice-truss and purlin construction.Kinnear steel rolling doors are used throughout. The structure is not elaborate in design, though ample nace and a cabinet for the storage of the castings made atthe shops.
