which is made up of three lVs-in. x 12-in. hard pineboards, the full length of the car, tongued and groovedand glued together. Each of the three side boards hastwo %-in. through bolts at each side post and isdressed and stained cherry on the inside of the car,providing the finish under the windows. The exterior of the car is covered with No. 16 sheetsteel 36 in. wide continuous from corner post to oppo-site-end vestibule post. The dashes are one-piece No.16 sheet steel. The letterboard is No. 14 sheet steel,8 in. broad and riveted in continuous length entirelyaround the car and vestibules over the windows. Al^-in. x 3-in. plate extends from the door to the oppo-site end vestibule post and is secured to each side postby the %-in. through bolts in the siding and a %-in. x5-in. plate is continuous around the car and bolted tothe side and end sills. Eight %-in. tie rods pass fromside to side under the floor. The floor is double fromthe trapdoors to the wall and is made of full length rift

MODERATE-COST ONE-MAN CAR BUILT IN GEORGIA—INTERIOR ARRANGEMENT OF GEORGIA ONE-MAN CAR pacity of twenty-eight. Hand-operated folding doorsand steps are provided, the operating lever being placedat the left of the controller equipment. The interior trim of the car is birch, stained cherrycolor to match the Heywood Brothers & Wakefieldseats, and the headlining is Agasote painted green.Pantasote curtains and metal sash are used, the sidesash being arranged to raise while the front vestibulesash drops in straight grooves and rests when closed onthe pocket cover, making a leak-proof sash. Adams <&,Westlake No. 10 push-buttons with porcelain centersare used. The truck sills are 3 in. x 9 in., of long-leaf yellowpine reinforced by 3-in. x 5-in. x %-in. angles fulllength. The side sills are of 3-in. x 5-in. pine and thecross sills of 4-in. x 4-in. white oak.
