Description	Deutsch: Der Name geht auf die abgegangene Siedlung Wanzenheim (auch: "Wanzheim" und andere Formen) zurück, die wie viele Dörfer in der Umgebung im Zuge der fränkischen Landnahme im 6. Jahrhundert gegründet wurde. Zentral war ein Hof, der zeitweise eine Grangie des Zisterzienserordens war. Spätestens 1430 wird auch eine Mühle erwähnt, die heute das letzte Zeugnis des Ortes ist, wobei das im Bild zu sehende Hauptgebäude laut Inschrift 1840 erbaut wurde. Der Mühlbetrieb wurde 1973 eingestellt, seitdem wird auf dem zu Rheinzabern zugehörigen Wohnplatz aus wirtschaftlicher Sicht ausschließlich Pferdehaltung betrieben.
