Title
Bust of a Man
Description
English: This bust from a statuette wears a short wig, which consists of rows of dark brown rectangles and does not cover the ears. His eyebrows are painted black, his eyes are also painted, and his skin is painted a deep dark brown. His necklace, consisting of three rows of colored beads, is painted white, dark red, dark blue, and light blue. There are traces of gilding on the back of the statue. His nipples are made from inlaid dowels inserted into the body. In addition to being cut off at the level of the pectorals, this piece has suffered additional damage, such as at the back of the wig, which is sheared off. There are also slight cracks in his back, as well as a larger crack on the left side of his neck. Paint has also fallen off of the chest and face. There are extensive restorations, including the coloring (the face has been repainted), which unfortunately obscures the original impression of this piece.
