English: The church was founded in the 7th century by the Abbey of Ferrières, at the same time as a priory it served. At the end of the 11th century, the donation made by the pope to the lord of the place of relics of St. Peter, led to the construction of a new building. This reconstruction was done by using materials from the previous church. Around 1120, the building is completed. From this period there is the basement, the first and the second level of the bell tower. After the Hundred Years War and until the beginning of the 16th century, the nave was rebuilt with a flamboyant western gate. Designed originally to be vaulted, the nave is finally covered only a simple wood paneling, with punches and apparent entwined. The aisles are unfinished. A third campaign of works is carried out in 1765. On the occasion of the installation of the marble altarpiece, the flat Roman chevet is replaced by a wall-pinion blind. The Romanesque arches of the side chapels, the triumphal arch and the bays of the nave are enlarged. A porch is built in the west, mutilating the flamboyant portal. In 1862, brick and plaster arches were launched on the tearing stone veins left waiting. The originally primitive carcass-like aisles received the same type of vaulting which rests on the side of the drip-shaped walls on molded culs-de-lampe (foliage and figures) and, on the nave side, on carved cul-de-sacs from the beginning of the 16th century (deadly sins). In 1884, the demolition of the porch was decided. (Source: Mérimée)
