Deutsch: Das Bett des Ludwig-Donau-Main-Kanals südlich der Schleuse 94 in Eggolsheim ist noch deutlich in der Landschaft zu erkennen. Die Trasse des 1836 bis 1846 erbauten und 1950 aufgelassenen Ludwigskanals führt im Gebiet des Marktes Eggolsheim kein Wasser mehr. Das heutige Bodendenkmal (D-4-6232-0435) ist mehrmals unterbrochen, wie im Hintergrund durch ein Gewerbebiet. Das erhaltene Kanalbett ist in diesem Bereich Teil des Naturschutzgebietes Büg bei Eggolsheim. Es wird heute zum größten Teil regelmäßig und extensiv gemäht oder beweidet, um eine Verbuschung zu vermeiden. |
