| Description |
English: Memorial to Edward Harri (1694-1800) and his wife Sian (c. 1695-1787). The memorial is now in w:en:Canolfan Soar, Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, but was originally erected in Ynysgau Chapel, Merthyr Tydfil.
Edward Harri was born in Cwm Glo near Merthyr Tydfil and was active in the eary nonconformist movement there. He lived to the age of 106. The memorial was erected by their grandson David Edwards of Gilfach Glyd, Llanwynno (1805-1885), probably many years after Edward Harri's death. The memorial has been attributed to the Welsh sculptor Joseph Edwards (1814–1882).([1]) The sculpted figure is very similar to Joseph Edwards' "The Spirit of Love and Truth" ([2]). |
