Hampton-on-Sea, Herne Bay, Kent, England. The man in the photo is Edmund Reid, who had previously been the head of Metropolitan Police CID and investigated the Whitechapel murders. The photographer was Fred C. Palmer who is believed to have died in Hungerford 1941; (fl.1892−1935). Reid built the bridge and was photographed with it, but the Council condemned it as unsafe and dismantled it shortly afterwards. |
