The ground resolution is about 12.5 meters per image point (pixel), which is almost the highest resolution possible with the HRSC from the elliptical Mars orbit. The color image was generated from the image data of the nadir channel directed perpendicular to Mars and the color channels viewed obliquely toward Mars. If you zoom in on the image, you can see the remains of huge landslides in the valley floor in many places. Image: 4/7, Credit: ESA/DLR/FU Berlin CCBY-SA 3.0 IGO |
