Deutsch: Dieses Energiebudget beinhaltet, was wir über die Teile der Temperaturregelung unserer Erde wissen. Das Bild zeigt, wie Wolken den Großteil der Reflexion von Sonnenenergie (überlege dabei wie hell Wolken aussehen können -- dies ist reflektierte Energie) und ausgestrahlter Wärmeenergie, ausmachen. (Wolken funktionieren ähnlich wie einem Heizkörper in der Atmosphäre -- nur eben viel kälter als Heizkörper in einem Gebäude). Man könnte Wolken als den Thermostat der Erde betrachten. Wenn z.B. die Durchschnittsdichte niedriger Wolken größer wird, und somit mehr Energie zurückgestrahlt wird, sinkt die Temperatur der Erde. Das gleiche Ergebnis, als wenn man einen Thermostat niedriger stellen würde. (vom original kopiert)
