Early Medieval sleeve clasp bar
Description
English: Bar from an Early Medieval sleeve clasp of Hines Form B13a (Hines,1993, 49-50). This form of clasp is distinguished by the use of stiffening bars soldered or riveted on to their faces. This bar has a flat, rectangular section and is decorated with two zones of transverse grooves. On its underside are traces of what is likely to be solder. Length 35.0mm, Width 5.9mm, Thickness 1.8mm, Mass 2.34g.
