Description |
English: Early Medieval sleeve clasp of Hines Form B12. Cast copper alloy, fragment only, with a grey, silvery finish suggesting that it was plated or made from a high alloy. The clasp originally consisted of three square panels on each of which was a loop by which it was attached to the garment. Between these panels were narrower sections bearing a transverse mouldings marked by incised lines. On the outer edge of the clasp are traces of the eye by which the clasp engaged the hook on its counterpart. Length 24.4mm, Width 11.5mm, Thickness 2.3mm, Mass 2.25g. |
