Early Medieval sleeve clasp
Description
English: Early Medieval sleeve clasp of Hines Form B7 (Hines 1993, p. 39-43). Fragment made from thin sheet copper alloy with raised decoration in the form of small bosses, and two rows of 0.5mm diameter, annular stamp impressions along the centre line of the clasp and across one side. These rows are linked by further stamps. Two 2.7mm diameter holes present through which the clasp was sewn to the cuff of the garment. Length 21.8mm, Width 12.6mm, Thickness 0.3mm, Mass 0.50g.
