Title |
Early Medieval Tweezers |
||
Description |
English: A pair of Anglo-Saxon or Medieval, sheet, copper-alloy tweezers. Made from a single strip of sheet copper-alloy, looped to form two, equal arms with a pear-shaped loop at their apex. The arms are sub-rectangular, widening slightly at their ends, are flat, and have inturned nibs.
The find site excludes the object being of Roman date, but finds from the 6th century onwards have been made so an early Medieval or Medieval date is probable. |
