Early Medieval Cruciform Brooch
Description
English: Burnt and sooted fragment of an Early Saxon copper alloy Cruciform brooch, incomplete bow only, of flattened D-section with a median groove. One end is broken (worn, ancient break) beyond a rectangular panel forming facets, the other end has a granular break before the missing panel. Blobs of molten metal adhere to the reverse. Surviving length 25.5mm. Extant width 23.5mm. Weight 11.41g. c.500 - c.530.
