Title
Early-Medieval : Bead
Description
English: A complete glass bead of uncertain date. The bead is circular in plan with a central circular perforation and is a dark blue colour. It is undecorated.

Dimensions: Diameter: 8.4mm; Thickness: 6.5mm; Perforation: 2.1mm; Weight: 0.7g.

Glass beads are very difficult to date with any certainty without supporting contextual evidence or diagnostic features. A quantity of Early-Medieval material has been found in the vicinity of this object suggesting a similar date may be likely though a later date cannot be ruled out.
