Description
English: Soldiers from C Company 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles (1RGR) using Australian Defence Force Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle or Infantry Mobility Vehicle. based in Brunei deployed in the Northern Territory of Australia taking part in Exercise Pacific Kukri, a multi-national joint exercise with the Australian Defence Force and U.S Marine Corps. Soldiers practised their boat drills using ZODIAC fast attack boats captained by Australian Defence Force soldiers, embarking and disembarking onto the shores outside Darwin before being moved to the next location by the Australian Bushmaster armoured vehicles. Pacific Kukri is a 5-week deployment and gives the opportunity for 1RGR to undertake defence engagement activities by developing interoperability between the Australian Defence Force & US Marines enhancing relationships within the IAP (Indo-Pacific Asia). The Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle – Medium (PMV-M) or Infantry Mobility Vehicle is an Australian-built four-wheel drive armoured vehicle. It is built to carry and sustain a nine-man infantry section, with room for one more passenger. It is fully air-conditioned and can sustain itself for a period of up to three days.
