Title
ESS-257A01 Post Medieval figurine
Description
English: Cast copper alloy corroded figurine in the form of a standing figure with hands on hips, and leaning towards the left. There is a worn break across the legs. The head is oval, with a slight raised line around its edge, presumably depicting hair. The surface is extremely worn and pitted, with no decoration visible. It is dark brown in colour, with patches of light green corrosion. The space between the arms is filled with corroded material. It is 43.93mm long, 23.90mm wide, 11.94mm thick and weighs 32.68 grams. The form of the figure is broadly similar to that found on Post Medieval pipe tampers, however this figurine seems to large for that purpose. It is likely to date from the 17th century.
