Description
English: This image places La Silla beneath a clear blue sky along the horizon of the Atacama Desert. Annotations identify the individual telescopes, of which three three were built and are operated by the ESO. Several telescopes are located at the site and are partly maintained by ESO, making it one of the largest observatories in the Southern Hemisphere.
