Description
Deutsch: Das jetzt ruinöse gründerzeitliche Eckhaus Marienstraße 6 am Beginn des Philosophenweges befindet sich etwa dort, wo bis zum Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts der südliche Zugang in die Altstadt durch das Frauentor bestand. Das von einem Gothaer Architekten entworfene Wohnhaus besaß im Erdgeschoß ein vom Konditormeister Heß betriebenes Café.

Als der dort vorgelagerte einstige Stadtgraben aufgegeben wurde, füllte man diesen auf und überbaute das Gelände mit dem Philosophenweg und weiteren Häusern.
