Bacteria Colonization in Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA)

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA) is a differential selective medium to grow gram-negative bacteria and differentiate fecal and non-fecal coliform bacteria. Fecal gram-negative coliform bacteria that ferment lactose (generally intestinal bacteria) can produce acid, in acidic conditions it will produce a complex color of dark purple or metallic green. Meanwhile, non-fecal bacteria ferment lactose slowly and produce small amounts of acid so that the colonies will be brown or pink.
