Description
English: Overview over the lower part of Fox Glacier with the glacier mouth visible on the right hand side. A bit further left is the area where in 2013 tourists could take glacier walks in guided tours. The clearly visible limit of vegetation on the right (southern) slope marks the temporary maximum height of the glacier around 2009, only four years earlier!
Deutsch: Überblick über den unteren Teil des Fox-Gletschers mit dem Gletschertor in der rechten Bildhälfte. Etwas weiter links liegt der Bereich, in dem 2013 die geführten Gletschertouren für Touristen durchgeführt wurden. Die klar sichtbare Vegetationsgrenze auf dem südlichen Hang, rechts im Bild, markiert den temporären Höchststand des Gletschers ca. 2009, nur vier Jahre zuvor!
