Summary
[edit]DescriptionDyffryn Syfynwy stone circle from the south - geograph.org.uk - 476626.jpg |
English: Dyffryn Syfynwy stone circle from the south The circle, or ring cairn, is positioned on the western flank of the Syfynwy valley with long view in three directions. The Rosebush reservoir now lies directly above marked here by the coniferous plantation that surrounds it. Behind the hills rise towards Cerrig Lladron further north.
The easternmost stone, on the right on the picture, is taller than the rest (now leaning) and may have been significant. It is possible to see that the centre of the circle is raised and earlier accounts describe that there was a definite mound there. The site is close to a foot path and well worth visiting. |
