English: July 5, 2011 A Super Sand Storm, reported by some Phoenix media channels as "The largest Sand Storm in the history of Arizona” ravaged through Casa Grande, AZ at 6:30 PM. This enormous plume of dirt and sand eclipsed mountains and covered freeways, and in some cases drivers and onlookers reported zero visibility. The "Desert Sand Storm" was first reported as being 51 miles wide, 7,000 ft. high, with gusts of 60 MPH. By July 6th, news reports stated final measurements of the storm were 101 miles wide. |
