Description This is a working, coal-burning steam locomotive on the Durango & Silverton Railroad. This narrow-gauge line runs tourist trains in rugged mountainous terrain between the towns of Durango and Silverton in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, USA. This K-36 2-8-2 engine was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1925. The unit originally headed freight trains on the narrow gauge portions of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad.
