Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Duke of Hamilton Coat of Arms on Derby porcelain dinner service commissioned circa 1780-90 by Douglas Hamilton, 8th Duke of Hamilton (1756-1799), who married Elizabeth Anne Burrell. However they appear to show the arms of James Hamilton, 5th Duke of Hamilton (1703-1743), with an inescutcheon of pretence of Spencer, for his third wife Anne Spencer (1720-1771), daughter (and heiress ?) of Edward Spencer of Rendlesham, Suffolk, and mother of Archibald Hamilton, 9th Duke of Hamilton (1740–1819).
