Le drosere sono piante carnivore che ricavano l'azoto dagli insetti che nel suolo della torbiera scarseggia. Le foglie hanno "tentacoli" appiccicosi che imprigionano le piccole prede. Nel Laghetto di Vedes (torbiera molto varia) vivono numerose specie botaniche tipiche dei climi freddi del Nord Europa ed estremamente rare per queste latitudini,
