Nederlands: In 1796 werden voor het eerst in Nederland nationale verkiezingen gehouden. Alle mannen van twintig jaar en ouder die niet van de bedeling leefden, mochten hun stem uitbrengen voor de Nationale Vergadering, het parlement van de Bataafse Republiek. De 126 parlementsleden droegen een lint met de tekst ‘representant’. Dit lint heeft toebehoord aan Jan Couperus, representant van het district Gouda. English: In 1796 national elections were held for the first time in the Netherlands. All men of twenty years and older who did not live from begging were allowed to vote for the National Assembly, the parliament of the Batavian Republic. The 126 MPs wore a ribbon with text 'representant'. This ribbon has belonged to Jan Couperus, a representative of the district of Gouda. Français : En 1796, les élections nationales ont eu lieu pour la première fois aux Pays-Bas. Tous les hommes de vingt ans et plus qui ne vivent pas en mendiant, ont été autorisés à voter à l'Assemblée nationale, le parlement de la République batave. Les 126 députés portaient un ruban avec le texte «représentant». Ce ruban a appartenu à Jan Couperus, un représentant de la circonscription de Gouda. Deutsch: Im Jahre 1796 wurden die ersten nationalen Wahlen in den Niederlanden statt. Alle Männer 20 Jahre und älter, die nicht durch Betteln lebten, durften ihre Stimme für die Nationalversammlung, dem Parlament der Republik Batavian gegossen. Die 126 Abgeordneten trug ein Band mit Text "repräsentativ". Dieses Band hat Jan Couperus, einem Vertreter der Bezirks Gouda gehörte. |
